Default It Just Isn't RIGHT!!!

Record snowfalls, a ton of snow predicted over the next week, an exchange rate that we haven't seen since 2004 and we're not going this year. I could cry...

I may still try to throw something together last minute for late February / early March.

How are those sheep Mr. Swiss? Please post pics from around town after the big snowfall (if it comes as predicted). Maybe a pic of someone sitting on a snow drift drinking a jagerbomb.

they were predicitng over 2 meters of fresh snow at one point, i now believe it will be about a meter after the weekend, however that still awfully impressive, second year in a run having good luck with our time of travel, will be there this saturday

for us brits though the exchange rate is awful, Gordon Brown said they has saved the world yesterday in parliament by accident it got everyone laughing lol

Have a great time on your trip. I'm envious! If you have the means and the weather is calm, try the helicopter trip up to Testa Grigia one clear morning. The views from the air alone are worth the money, but you also have much more time to experience the Cervinia side that day.

Edit: BTW: I posted some pics from the helicopter up here about a year or so ago. I have no idea which folder they're in though.

We can all lease a room and pack 10 people into it... Eat canned soup from a hotplate. As long as there's spending money for happy hour.

How much does it generally cost you to travel there Gebby? I have no idea, but I wouldn't think it'd be near my expense (generally $800 air and $150 rail).

Johnie i thought you were an all year resident in Zermatt?

bdrewen with the hlicopter do you take your skiis and get off at testa grigga, how exactly does it work, seems like great fun.

Gebstar i know what you mean, it was hard work to get my dad to take us, the exchange rate is horrific, he says it every year but it definatly holds true at the moment, i think its time for Brown to go.

you take your skis with you - they load them outside the helicopter. Then you load up with boots on and get your skis back once you're up there. Then you can ski straight down to Italy. It was terrific and well worth the money in my opinion.

John is our resident in Zermatt but he has recently gone to Toronto, he will tell you more about it!
Well for me it costs about £400 for the air fare and then around £150 i think for the train..our family always insists on going first in the train...no idea why!
the exchange rate is shocking i know, but its better for CHF than it is euro....the euro is awful!
Lets just hope that 2010 is going to be a better year for skiers!
