Live Update for 5th March -

At present a high cloud is covering the main mountain areas. Trockner Steg is closed due to high winds building from the Cervinia side over the Monte Rosa. Excellent snow conditions from Gornergrat to Rothorn with all lifts and pistes currently working. After snow fall last night the itinerary runs from Stockhorn are excellent. Be careful of dull light due to cloud cover.

Live Update for 6th March -

At present conditions in Zermatt seems fairly unsettled. Rothorn, Trifti are closed due to elevated winds and poor visibility. Klein Matterhorn lift at present is open but runs to Trockner and Plateau Rosa and shut. Gornergrat, Schwarszee, Riffleberg, Furi, Furg, Gant are open as usual.

Over night and at present a dusting of snow, around 5cm, will leave good snow conditions but poor light. Mid Level temperatures staying around -5, with temperatures in town rising to around 1.

WARNING - expect rain in the town tomorrow around 1619m (above sea level).

Live Update for 7th March -

Morning all. At present the entire mountain network in Zermatt is open. Last night saw a good few cm drop over the area creating some great powder skiing through the trees especially around Rothorn and Blauherd. Wind levels have dropped compared to yesterday sitting at around 10km/h at mid level, temperatures are also turning milder sitting at -3 mid level. Visibility will be a issue if the weather keeps closing in, but not white out conditions, so keep an eye on lift status to aviod disappointment.

More updates to follow - Pray for Snow

    Update for 8th March -

Morning all. At present all of the lifts and pistes are open even due to the moderately heavy snow fall currently over Zermatt. Today around 7cm/8cm should fall creating fantastic potential for excellent snow conditions on piste and off piste today and tomorrow. Compared to yesterday the wind has died down settling at 10km/h at mid level, temperature has followed suit predicted to stay at -4 for the majority of today.

Conditions in the town are becoming milder with a temperature of +2 and over 9cm of rain.

Considering the snowy conditions staying around the Gornergrat, Rothorn, Sunnegga and Schwarzee regions would be best as visibly is maximised.

    Update for 9th March -

Morning all. Snow conditions this week have been getting better and better with the constant 'top-up' the resort has been getting each day. As predicted yesterday had very poor visibility forcing skiers to keep to mid level and below ski runs.

Today the picture is slightly brighter with visibility greatly improved. All runs and lifts are currently open servicing all areas of the Zermatt mountain region. Temperature has followed suit from yesterday saying at around -5 mid level with wind speeds of 5-10km/h.

Considering the 7cm of snow yesterday and current predictions of 7cm over today conditions on piste and off piste are excellent. With snow up to boot level off piste it may be a great day for all those competent skiers to get to Trifti and Rote Nase to attempt the itinerary runs. If Trifti isn't your thing then all other runs around the resort are in great shape.

Run of the day: from Hohtalli take red 28 to join itinerary run 30 to then rejoin red 26.

    Update for 11th March -

Afternoon all, apologies for no update yesterday. Yesterday and today saw a moderate amount of snow falling over Zermatt. Today we can expect in the region of 14cm at mid level leaving fantastic piste conditions. At present visibility around the mid level mountains of Rothorn, Gornergrat, Sunnegga, Schwarzee and Trockner Stieg is good allowing for all runs and lifts to be working, wind levels are also fairly low settling at around 5-10km/h. The Klein lift is shut due to visibility and high side winds.

Run of the day: Red 72 from Furggsattel to Trockner, piste conditions on the glacier are perfect leaving excellent runs and fluffy snow off piste.

    Be safe!

    Update for 12th March -

Right now the weather in Zematt is looking good, forecasters are predicting a light fall of snow is morning and the afternoon but only 3cm. At present all lifts and pistes are open. Visibility is the best it has been in over a week, with mid level having scattered sun and open cloud.

The Klein Matterhorn is in the cloud line but the wind level is low so skiing down towards Plateau Rosa shouldn't be too difficult or uncomfortable. Wind levels throughout the resort are low around 5km/h which is the lowest in a week.

Hopefully by Thursday Zermatt should have its first sunny day in a little while, although weather hasn't been great the snow top ups have been gravely needed, the more it snows the longer the season will be.

Run of the day: Red 69 from Furggsattel to Furgg. Get to it early for the first corduroy run of the day, the at around 11/12 when the snow softens, should be perfect.

    Update for 13th March -

WOW what a stunning day we have had so far. With snow falling last night it has left the slopes with a bit of fresh powder and brilliant blue sky's. The mid level temperature has dropped to -9 but with windchill that lowers to at least -14. Wind levels at mid have been staying constant for most of tail end of last week and early this week with speeds of 5km/h.

Since this morning all of the lifts and pistes have been open and operational servicing all of the resort. Keep your eyes on the Klein as with the predicted winds pushing there way in tomorrow the areas will undoubtably be closed to the public, a prediction for the same on Stockhorn and Rote Nase.

Due to the slow temperatures the runs to the town are looking good, live reports say the Black 62 from Furgg to Furi is operational, slightly icy but a great runt to test the skills.

Run of the day: Black 62 from Furgg to Furi

    Update for 14th March -

Weather over Zermatt isn't looking too bad today. The wind levels have really lifted and as predicted yesterday the Klein has been closed for today. Temperatures have really dropped with an overall level of -17, the wind chill has really brought how the temperatures feel at -30.

The sun is shining over Zermatt at present, more on the Rothorn side but visibility is good baring Plateau Rosa. Good to see that the resort is busy and the volume of people should greatly pick up over the next few weeks.
