It's very easy!

First you have to have the pictures uploaded somewhere to the internet, that is, the pics have to be on a web-site somewhere. If you don't have a web-site, you can use free services like http://photobucket.com/ or http://myspace.com/ or numerous others like http://www.youtube.com/ if you want to post a video...

Then you start a new message or reply to a msg here on Zermatt-Talk forum. When starting a message (or replying) there's a button up above labeled "Img" - click on this and simply put in the url (address) to the picture you already have hosted on your website or with photobucket or myspace...

So for instance if I have a photo of the Matterhorn which is hosted at

http://www.gozermatt.com/matterhorn.jpg

I click on Img

-> click on 'Close Tags'

and you see this:

cool eh?

bdrewen:

Thanks for the pictures from the Heli! Do you have some other pictures from the helicopter trip? What time during the year did you take the pictures? Thanks for info!

I apologize Andrew, it's apparently been quite some time since I've checked this site out.

The helicopter trip was on or about 9 February of 2006. We've always gone in February and have been very lucky weather wise. I hope the same holds true for our February trip coming up in 2008.

As for the helicopter trip itself, it was part of an "Adventure Package" offered by the Hotel National. There weren't too many more photos that came out of it unfortunately. I think we were all a little too awe struck by the incredible view of the Alps to think about taking pictures. The helicopter lifted off from the Air Zermatt location in town and flew us up to Testa Grigia. We skied the Italian side a couple of times and then had lunch at a great Italian restaraunt a few kilometers down the valley from Cervinia (Mama ???). After lunch it was literally a race to get back to the Swiss side. A storm was moving in and lift closure was imminent. We managed to make it over and skied down to Furgg where we decided that - given the limited visibility - going up to Schwarzsee Paradise might be the best way back. While there, we could hear a helicopter somewhere overhead attempting to rescue two climbers from the Matterhorn who had gotten caught in the storm. We were told the next day that the rescue had been unsuccessful and one of the climbers died. I believe the climbers were from Finland, but I don't recall clearly. It was sobering to think about it.

Hopefully the weather will repeat (without the late storm) and we'll be able to take more pictures in 2008!

Great... thanks for your text.. it would be nice if you came over here more often, so we could discuss the weather, Zermatt and hopefully in the future some more great shots from the helicopter! Thanks! Cheers!

The last four pics are from the helicopter in Feb 2006. I think the pictures cover three different years.
