Sorry haven't been. Can heartily recommend Le Gitan, Cafe DuPont (4 real not cos it's Johnnie's ex's place), Sum Zee, Schweiserstubli. Let us know what you think if you go there ?

Default Truly dreadful restaurant

We have visited Zermatt for about eight years, and went to Spycher for the first time in Feb 2009. It was the worst meal we have ever had in Zermatt.

It is a pretty restaurant, and the menu looks good, but they lack basic cooking skills. (see separate thread for more detail).

Go to Le Mazot or Stockhorn Grill instead if you want a nice evening out.

Default Avoid

I have to totally agree with IanH. We visited Zermatt in Februrary 2009 and had many wonderful meals at Chez Vrony, Stockhorn Grill, Whymperstube and Fluhalp amongst others. The only poor meal we had all week was at the Spycher. (Cafe Du Pont was far too smokey for our liking but the food was good!). Please avoid Spycher until they improve markedly - there are many other excellent eateries in Z.
